Hey–
I’m appalled to hear about the NYPD’s use of violence against students and the administration’s silence.
SOLIDARITY FROM ST ANDREWS UNI OCCUPATION!
We’ll be writing letters to your administration.

if a mob is running at officers and guards who are trying to protect a door, then students deserve every bit of force…..go have some tea and crumpets.
This is an admittedly off-topic, individual complaint that nonetheless sheds a bit of light for me on how you all have conducted yourselves. I am a TA. I have been until now extremely supportive of your actions and have a good amount of respect for what you all were doing. I wrote a considered list of suggestions as a comment on this board, ideas I thought would help bring in more people. I suggested that TAs bring the issue into their sections, that we change nyu computers’ homepages to your website… Ironically, one of my suggestions was a place just for such suggestions on the page.
Apparently, you all erased my comment.
I have to admit I thought you were handling this in a more professional manner. I am a total ally, and well… you lost me. I still kind of don’t believe that you would have censored something that was posted in such good faith as I imagined I had written it. Am I missing something. Seriously kids, WTF!?
Your behavior is an embarrassment to the NYU student community. You hijacked and vandalized our student facilities, injured our security guards, and prevented our dining staff from doing their jobs. You attempted to force your views on the Middle-Eastern conflict upon the entire university, and demand reallocation of funds that are not solely yours to spend. You dismissed the democratic decision of the student senate to overturn the Coca Cola ban. Worst of all, you made a spectacle of yourselves and a mockery of student activism, all the while calling yourselves representatives of the NYU student body. You’ve shamed yourselves and our university.
Students for Social Democracy of Columbus State University in Columbus, GA stands with your occupation. Don’t let up. You’re action is an inspiration and a model for future resistance.

Man, from the 60’s war protest to the recent New School occupation, this has got to rank at the bottom of the barrel. What the hell were you protesting about again?! Are you satisfied with your 15 minutes of whining over nothing? Sad and pathetic.
on 21 Feb 2009 at 10:46 am15pro-israeli spin : how it is achieved on such a massive scale
i bet you are all wondering why your blog has been targeted so viciously by people claiming to be new-yorkers or ‘fellow students’…it’s simple : you were acting in solidarity with gaza, and every pro-zionist troll in the world was alerted to this fact via this website and it’s nifty downloadable ‘insta-zionist troll’ application… http://giyus.org/
they can mega-phone you all they want, but know that there are MANY people around the world who appreciate what you guys did and stand in solidarity with you.
I am a student from Montreal’s concordia University, and wish to express my solidarity.
We all know that the people speaking out against your actions here have bad politics, and little to nothing insightful to say.
you people are an absolute disgrace to this country and college students everywhere.
bunch of spoiled brats!
post my comment, or are you writing your own history here?
pathetic.

@ 11:
Wonderfully put; I couldn’t agree more.
On another note, I am glad to see that the respective organizers are being reprimanded for their ill-advised actions.
